How to Survive a Rainy Day

By Braxton

1.  First step to surviving a rainy day - make a paper fake mustache and say CHEESE!

2.  Next find some blankets and play "hide there is a dinosaur coming!" or "here comes the alligator!" This can be an hour of fun - and leads to lots of giggles!  However, try to stay away from the game "You Kissed the Smelly Sock!"...because it can get stinky.

3.  To see the world from someone else's perspective, put on a pair of someones glasses.  Don't daddy's glasses make me look like I'm 8 years old?!!

4. Try memorizing a Bible verse.  (Here is a video of me reciting Proverbs 3:5).

5.  Always end the day by reading a good Bible story (ours was David and Goliath so daddy had to teach me how to use a slingshot before bed).

And one final bedtime necessity - sleep with a "tent" over your bed...just because its fun!

Gone Fishing

Yesterday we went fishing - super fun & a little windy.  Half way through Braxton stopped for a snack of goldfish & we wrapped a white shirt around his head to keep him warm.

This weekend we went to the Arbor Day event in Farmington - where Braxton saw a scorpion up close, got to touch a Giant African Millipede, made a fancy magnet (out of a recycled CD & stickers) and got a free tree sapling.

Yesterday we also went to the "Airplane Inside Park"  to play one last time, since it was the last day before the park closed for the next 3 months for remodeling.

Fun Weekend

This weekend was a busy one!  We spent quality time with Aunt De, then my friend Linda from work came over, then we visited with my friend Jessi from high school and her 18 month old Abby.  Busy and really fun! Here are a few photos and a cute video of Braxton with the toy gun Aunt De gave him.

Random Update

Braxton is now 3 years and 3 months old.  He's becoming quite a character.  Here are a few updates:

Yikes!  He is a budding class clown.  Last week Braxton was playing at the top of the slide with a small group of kids.  I heard Braxton say "bull shit" three times.  When he slid down the slide I pulled him aside to scold him.  I reminded him that it is not okay to say naughty words.  He looked at me innocently and said, "but mommy they laughed."

Smarty Pants - He can spell his first and last name & knows his phone number!
Cute- One of Braxton's favorite things to do when he wakes up in the morning is play the "hide" game.  The game starts by yelling "I see a dinosaur - we need to hide" and then diving under the blankets on mom & dad's bed.  He then will peek out from under the blankets and pretend to shoot the dinosaurs, lions, and squirrels that are "in the room".  This kids has got one active imagination!

Visiting Up North

This weekend we went up north to stay with Grandma Debbie for three days.  Braxton loved riding the exercise bike on the deck and playing with the wind chimes.

We also went to church with Grandma - so I made Braxton pose in front of the fireplace where mommy and daddy got married!
Then we went to visit Grandpa Dwaine at the farm and rode a golf cart through the field to the duck pond.  The golf cart gave us a bumpy ride and Braxton laughed the whole time!
