Avery & Isla

On Sunday afternoon we went to Avery & Isla's house to watch the Viking's football game.  We caught a few cute photos and one video of Avery and Braxton.

Ruby's Birthday Bash

Braxton's friend Ruby had a really fun Dora the Explorer birthday party this weekend at the indoor Edinborough Park.  We followed the treasure map to find the hidden birthday party hats, played at the huge play tower (in the one photo you can see Brock and Brax waving from the 3rd story), ate birthday cake, and gave Ruby a goodbye hug.   Super fun!

South Dakota Adventures

This week Brock & I took 3 days off of work to visit Brent & his family in South Dakota.  We had such a relaxing time.  We picked corn in the cornfield, chased chickens, and had a bonfire at night. We spent a lot of time shooting the guns at the bullseye and corncobs in the yard - and Brandon won the sharpshooter contest. It was a really fun time!

Thank You Grandma!

We are so thankful that Grandma Debbie came this week to help with Braxton while Diane was out of town for work.  Braxton loved hanging out with grandma and going to the park.  We forgot to take photos with her while she was here - so  I snapped photos of Braxton wearing the cool fireman boots grandma bought him. Thanks so much mom for helping us out this week (and for the boots too!)

Shaving with Daddy

Evening Walks

The weather has been cooler this week and we've taken fun evening walks. Each night Braxton wears his red footy pajamas and leather jacket - so cute!

3 quick stories

Story #1
In the past few weeks Braxton's bedtime ritual has changed.  Now, after hugs and kisses Braxton....walks into his bedroom all by himself and climbs in bed!  Once he's in bed he yells "Goodnight, I love you"! and we yell "goodnight, I love you".  Repeat the "Goodnight, I love you" yelling several times back and forth...and 5 minutes later he's snoring! He's becoming an independent boy!

Story #2
This week Brock turned the radio on to classical music.  Braxton listened to the music for a few minutes and then said, "Daddy, that's not right!  That's not right!  We need music with people talking please!"  He loves music and apparently his favorite part is the lyrics!

Story #3
Whenever he sees an American flag Braxton shouts "God Bless America!"  So we decided he needed to learn an abreviated version of the song.  Here's a short video where he sings "God bless America, My Home Sweet Home".

Adventure Day

At 7am today I looked at Braxton and said, "let's go on an adventure!"  Braxton replied, "Yes, Let's go on an adventure!  Can we see dirt?"  So....the adventure started with looking at piles of dirt, excavators, and backhoes.

Next we watched a bumblebee hop from flower to flower and sang "I'm smashing up my baby bumblebee". Then it started raining so we went to a bagel shop to see how the bakers make bagels.  We ate "special milk" (chocolate milk) and a bagel.  (This photo was taken just before special milk spilled all over the table).

It was still raining so we went to see the fish at Walmart.  Braxton LOVES watching them! (...and do you see this crazy smile and wrinkled nose he has in many photos?  That's the new face he does whenever you say "smile!")

By this time the rain had stopped so we went to the park to play.

The last stop on our adventure was going to get groceries.  As we pulled into the parking lot Braxton yelled, "I see it!  I see an airplane cart! Let's go get it!" As I snapped a photo of Brax in the airplane cart a nice passerby offered to take a photo of the two of us.  Here we are!
