Park Painting & Church Picnic

Braxton got new watercolor paints from Grandma Debbie so we took them with us to the park.  Braxton had a great time painting!

We also went to the church picnic last night.  Braxton loved climbing up and sliding down the bouncy slide.  He bounced in the inflatable bouncer 3 times and wore himself out!

Weekend Highlights

We had fun playing at the splash park.  Bonus: we were the only people at the park at 8am and the groundskeepers gave Braxton a pair of Dora the Explorer sunglasses that they found.
We had fun hanging out with Aunt De who drove up from Iowa (Braxton picked up a cute new phrase from De and now says, "that's unbelievable!").
We were able to harvest tomatoes (Braxton LOVES to pick the red tomatoes but he will not eat them because he says they are "yucky").
We went to a new park & chased hundreds of geese through the football fields.

Braxton & Avery visit the Sprinkler Park

Travis, Lauren, Avery and Isla came to visit yesterday.  We had fun hanging out with them and introduced Avery to the Sprinkler Park by our house.

Mickey Mouse

How cool is it to have an aunt that lives near Disney Land?
Thanks Aunt Dor for the new Mickey shirt!  Here's a special song just for you!

A truck and a haircut

Our Saturday adventures started today in the front yard.  Our neighbors were having new concrete poured in their driveway and Braxton was really excited to see a Cement Truck parked right in front of our house (also this photo shows one of the two trees that Brock planted in our front yard this week)!
Next we went to get a haircut.  Braxton was very well behaved and didn't cry (that was a first!)
And here is one more photo of Brax sitting in the carseat after the haircut.

Sandstone Trip

This weekend Braxton and I went to Sandstone to spend time with Grandma Debbie.  It was festival weekend and we were able to participate in several Quarry Days events.  We watched the parade together (and ate dumdum suckers),

bobbed for floating duckies, and "went fishing" for prizes (where he won a pair of yellow sunglasses).

Then we went to the park and took some fun photos.

It's mighty hard to get a good photo with a squirmy 2 year old.  Here are a few "blooper" photos along with the best one of Braxton and I.

And here is one final photo from the trip home - sitting in his carseat wearing the new sunglasses he won "fishing".

The Shrek Movie

On Wednesday Brock took Braxton to the movie theater for the first time! We got 2 free tickets to a 10am show of the movie Shrek "Forever After".  Brock told me about the experience later that night:

"Braxton was too small to sit on the theater seat by himself.  The seat kept folding up, so he sat on my lap.  He did a good job sitting quietly and eating popcorn.  Once the lights dimmed he kept saying 'daddy look, cartoons!'  Braxton was more interested in watching the people in the theater than watching the movie itself.  At 11am he fell asleep, so we left the movie early."

Park Adventure

This summer we have officially visited every playground in the city of Lakeville.  In honor of the achievement, we had a special photo shoot in the park. I love how these photos turned out!
