I'm starting to feel semi-competent about being a parent knowing how to feed, dress, and care for Braxton...but how do you teach a child to be a wonderful, fine, upstanding citizen? To love God. To be kind and considerate. To be wise. To share his toys with other kids. To not throw tantrums at the park because he doesn't want to stop playing and go home?
Got tips? Let me know!
You are such an awesome Mama to even be thinking of these bigger issues so early. We try to incorporate our Faith and values in every-day life. Saying prayers, family devotions (Braxton is too young), and there are some awesome Bibles for really young kiddos out there. Making comments about how to be generous and caring, etc. As he gets older, all of this will become more clear. You should google Seeds Family Worship-- they have nice CD's. Music helps, too!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lisa, 100%. You are a great momma. Just want to add that all children throw tantrums. The way the tantrums are handled is an important part of learning kindness, consideration, wisdom.
