Denise & Brandon Visit
Last weekend Denise & Brandon were at our house (Brandon will be staying with us while he completes work training and then transfers to Missouri). While Brandon was at work, Denise and I got to spend time together and go to the park (and Braxton got to wear the new hat Grandma made for him!)

Halloween with Cash & Lavont
Yesterday we went to a local Halloween event where we met Liberty and her two kids Cash (the orange car) and Lavont (the transformer). The boys loved bouncing in the bounce house together!
Fireman Worksheets
I found a cool website this week with free preschool printable worksheets (created by a mom for her 3 kids). I printed out the Fireman pack which has games for tracing, matching, counting and sorting. Braxton LOVED them! The website is http://mamasmonkeys.blogspot.com/p/printables-for-tots.html

Urgent Care Visit
We spent last night at Urgent Care. Here's how the story started...because of Brock's work schedule we aren't often able to attend church as a family, so we've been on the lookout for a church with different service times. We learned about a local church with a 7:30pm Friday night service and attended for the first time last night. We dropped Braxton off in the really nice kids area - then just before the church service started a lady from the kids area pulled us out. She said Braxton cut his head and probably needs stitches (apparently he was holding a Thomas the Train toy when he tripped and fell on it). We drove to Urgent Care where they decided that he needed several stitches to close the 3 cm wound. Unfortunately, Braxton was not cooperating. In the end, he received one stitch and the remainder of the wound was closed with surgical glue. We took the photo below last night after we got home (this is after the glue had dried so this is what it will look like for the next 2 weeks). Luckily - a few weeks ago when Braxton attended his friend Ruby's birthday party he was given some cartoon car bandaids. We put on one this morning and these fun bandaids made it feel much better!
Preschool Classroom
This week Braxton graduated into the Preschool Classroom at Daycare (he goes to daycare 2 days a week and absolutely loves it). One big highlight of his new classroom is the Guinea Pig named Fiona - he loves her! I snapped a few photos of the classroom - its divided into several different play areas (trucks in one spot, blocks, large motor, dress-up & play kitchen in another).

Halloween Party
This week we went to a kids Halloween event in Lakeville. It was great weather to be walking around and tricker treating. While we were out, we ran into a little girl who was wearing a purple dragon costume. She roared at Braxton and then they held hands and walked around together for the next 20 minutes - super cute!

Halloween Photo
This weekend while getting groceries at Walmart we got a free Halloween photo too. Braxton wasn't too sure about having his photo taken but he was very sure that he didn't want to stand next to the skeleton with red eyes because he said "it's too scary!"

Zacchaeus song
Braxton can still fit into his dinosaur Halloween costume from last year (which is size 18 months!)
He wore it around the house today and he was just singing and singing. I caught the 2nd round of the "Zacchaeus was a wee little man" song and I just had to ask him to sing it again! Here's the video:

The Fountain
We haven't had the camera out much this weekend. Here are 2 snapshots we took by the park fountain this morning. I told Braxton not to touch the water....as soon as I backed up to take the photo he stuck his hand in the water (and then drank it - yuck!)

Incident Report
Today Braxton received an "Incident Report" from daycare (we tend to get an incident report about once every 6 months...usually they occur while he is transitioning into a new classroom like he is now). The official document from the "incident" yesterday states:
What was the incident: At 10:45am while standing at the art easel Braxton wanted the truck that another friend was holding. When he pushed the friend over, the friend bit Braxton on the left shoulder.
Type of Injury: Bite on left shoulder.
First aid given: TLC, washed, ice pack
This incident report makes me laugh. I love that it says "the friend bit Braxton" and I love that they clarify the incident occured "at the art easel". Braxton has a huge bite mark on his shoulder but I'm glad no one was seriously hurt from the "incident".
