Husband of the Year

I've been sick with a bad cold & fever. Brock has been taking 24-hour baby duty for the past three days in hopes that I don't get the baby sick (so far so good). Now the baby is fed and asleep and Brock's out shoveling 5 inches of snow off the driveway. I am so thankful for my husband.

A hernia and reflux

The past week has been a crazy one. The baby has been sick and the doctor diagnosed him with GERD (infant reflux) which is very common with preemies. Thank God the medicine is working, the crying has stopped, and the baby is fine now. Additionally--Braxton's "innie" belly button has turned into an umbilical hernia which looks very weird but doesn't need surgery. The doctors say the hernia will fix itself by the time Braxton is two years old. Here is a photo of his crazy belly button.

Braxton & Avery Meet Again

Brock, Braxton and I went on our first family trip together yesterday to Minnetonka to visit Brock's nephew Travis, his wife Lauren & their 7 month old daughter Avery. Avery wasn't sure what to think of Braxton at first, but we know they'll be good buddies when Braxton gets a bit older.

A visit from Aunt De

Brock's sister De came up from Iowa this weekend to see us. Braxton loved cuddling with her. Here's our favorite photo from the weekend.

A birthday visit from Denise!

My sister Denise came to our house to celebrate my birthday and see the baby again. Braxton normally doesn't focus his eyes on an object for very long--but he loved being held by Denise and he continued to stare at her the entire time she held him!

Relaxing with Uncle Brent

Brock's brother Brent came to visit this weekend. He has been living in Fort Worth, Texas but is in the process of moving his family to Iowa. It was great to see him. Here's a photo with Brent and Braxton.
