Smarty

Braxton is getting smarter by the day. Here are a few things he has recently learned:

1) When he wants to read he will grab a book and climb up on your lap so you can read to him. His absolute favorite book is "Moo Ba La La La" (a gift from my Aunt Pam who lives in North Carolina).

2) When he sees a picture of a duck he says, "Duck!"

3) If you say the phrases, "let's go downstairs" or "let's go outside" he knows exactly what you are talking about and starts running toward the stairs.

4) When he gets hungry he walks over to his highchair and tries to climb it (see video).

Feeling Better!

We thank God that Braxton is feeling better now! He's back to his cute little ways. At 4:30am today Brock and I both woke up because Braxton was in his crib laughing out loud. He has never done that before. It was really cute (but really early)! Here is a photo I took today along with two new videos from last night.

A few setbacks

We had a few setbacks this weekend....on Friday at the doctor Braxton was given a "2 ear infections and pink eye" diagnosis and a new medication. Over the weekend Brax had high fevers (the worst night his fever hit 105.5 degrees) and we were advised by 3 different medical people to "wait 3 days for the new medication to kick in". Today Braxton broke out in hives and after another trip to Urgent Care was declared "penicillin allergic". Now, we have another new medication. Here are photos I took today of his splotchy face and belly.

Denise & Kaely Visit

My sister Denise was in Minnesota this week for some Delta Airlines Advancement Training. She and her fellow flight attendant friend Kaely came to our house to visit on Wednesday. It was really fun to see them!

Braxton's Hat

Braxton is starting to understand words. Today I told him, "Bring mamma Braxton's hat" and I was amazed when he walked across the room to get his hat and brought it to me!

This week Braxton has had fun playing with the birthday balloons Brock bought for me. Here is a video of him with the balloons.

Great Day

This week while surviving ear infections and pink eye issues Braxton also cut 2 new top teeth. He is starting to feel much better now.

How To Make Your Day Great...
1. Start the day off right by spiking your hair at 6am.

2. Next, look around the house and find a few door stoppers to play with. They make fun noises and are great to chew on!

3. Get exercise doing something that you love.
4. Find a washing machine or dryer door and slam it repeatedly. It's good stress relief. It is also cool to scream into the dryer and hear your voice echo.

5. Open some drawers & cupboards and just start chucking things out. It's great fun!

6. Before the day is done grab your penny jar and count your blessings!

Laying Low

Braxton has been a bit under the weather for the past week (but thankfully his fever broke a few days ago). Brock had a day off of work and we wanted to "go somewhere" so we went to Hom Furniture to look around. Braxton slept through the whole outing (here is a photo of him in the little red car stroller they have at the store)....and here is a photo of him laying next to his toybox on a pillow rather than playing with his toys. The doctors say his "virus which needs no antibiotics" should go away soon. Until then, we're laying low!
