After two months of searching, interviewing, and touring Braxton started his new in-home daycare on Tuesday. And then shockingly...only one day later he got kicked out. Can you believe that? After only a day and a half he got kicked out of the new daycare! How rediculous! And do you know why he got kicked out? Well...the direct quotes were: "it's not working because he is not eating or sleeping very well" followed by "it breaks my heart to see him so upset" and finally "I could hold him all afternoon to stop him from crying but it wouldn't be fair to the other kids." Good Lord! How retarded! I'm no day care professional but I know that it takes more than a day and a half for a 9 month old to adjust to a new daycare. The fact that he got kicked out made us feel like aweful parents or that we have spoiled him somehow. We finally just had to tell ourselves, "the new daycare lady's lack of commitment to taking care of Braxton does not mean that we are failing as parents". I still can't believe he got kicked out after only a day and a half...does anyone else think that is crazy?

That is INSANE that a daycare would kick him out after 1.5 days. What a loser!!! You don't her taking care of him, anyways. Sorry. It's her own lack of ability. Hope you find a great one. I'm rather partial to the centers, myself. ;)

ReplyDeleteGood for you for trying him at an "in-home" place. 2 days are not enough to get a child settled in a new surrounding. Her response is very unprofessional in my opinion and lacks compassion. That lady is missing out on a fabulous young boy! It is HER loss, not yours. You guys are great parents!

ReplyDeleteShe sounds like a flake who you don't want taking of him anyway. Don't think of it as any reflection on your parenting skills. We went through several daycare/babysitter scenarios before we found "the one". No worries!
ReplyDeleteThis is just preparing you for other times that "professionals" aren't the know all to end all. I think God is protecting Braxton!! Never forget that you are terrific parents and we non of us knew all the answers, I'm so very proud of you both!! Love ya, DE
